Die Verbreitung dieser Art ist unzureichend dokumentiert worden: Opuwo, Khorixas, West-Outjo, Omaruru und Erongo Distrikt (steinige Böden).
P. gaerdesi wurde früher als Unterart von P. undata betrachtet. Artstatus durch Mayer & Berger-Dell`mour (1987 & 1988).
Diese Art ist im Skeleton Coast Park, dem West Coast Recreation Area und eventuell im westlichen Etosha National Park verbreitet.
